Staff Training Meeting

As part of Mazi Travel’s commitment to adopting sustainable practices, with the aim of further aligning the company with the principles of Sustainable Tourism Development and Management, an important staff training meeting was held on Monday, February 17, 2025. The theme of the meeting, “Integrating Sustainability Practices into Mazi Travel’s Journeys,” aimed to inform and raise awareness among employees about sustainability issues, as well as to present best practices and strategies for promoting sustainability in the tourism sector. Participants had the opportunity to explore how their decisions and actions can contribute to environmental protection and support local communities, thereby strengthening Mazi Travel’s overall sustainability strategy.

In the first part of the meeting, presentations were given by Ms. Froso Dimitrakopoulou, Sustainability Manager for Tourism Businesses, and Mr. Yanis Kalogiannidis, the company’s Sustainability Coordinator. Ms. Dimitrakopoulou presented data and practices related to sustainability in tourism, as well as the impacts of tourism activity on the environment and local communities. Subsequently, Mr. Kalogiannidis referred to Mazi Travel’s achievements on its path to sustainability, as well as its future goals.

In the second part, the participants collaborated in groups to modify programs from already completed excursions, with sustainability in mind.

In the evaluation questionnaires for the training meeting, the participants stated that the meeting significantly improved their awareness of sustainability issues and that they would like to participate in future educational activities. The experiential part of the group work was met with enthusiasm, positively impacting the staff members.

Employees gained valuable knowledge and tools for integrating sustainable practices into Mazi Travel’s journeys. Through teamwork, they strengthened their commitment to a responsible approach to tourism. Mazi Travel continues to promote sustainability and is preparing future actions to support this direction, strengthening its relationship with the environment and local communities.
